I am an integrative relational psychotherapist, which means that I use a variety of approaches and methods to get the best possible understanding for your needs. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is the principal factor in therapy, and I aim to create a warm, trusting, and supportive environment for you to explore your issues and goals.
Also, as a person-centred therapist, I respect your autonomy and agency as a unique human being. I do not impose my views or solutions on you, but I help you to find your own inner resources and wisdom. I listen to you with empathy and curiosity, and I offer you feedback and guidance when needed.
I came to counselling later in life, after running my own successful business in the hospitality and events industry for many years in an effort to prove my self-worth. I have a lot of experience in dealing with different people and situations, and I understand the pressures and challenges of working in a demanding and competitive field. I have also faced my own struggles with complicated family issues growing up, identity and self worth. These experiences have shaped me as a person and as a therapist, and they help me to connect with a diverse range of clients.
I am currently undertaking specialist training in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy with the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology (accredited by COSRT). My training status is clearly stated here in line with the professional guidelines
I am BAPC registered and abide by their ethical framework.
